GRADES 7-8 Humanities
Susan McCarter - was born in Danville, Illinois, the youngest of five children in her combined families. She attended public schools in her farm community until the seventh grade. Although her family was avid about education, they were not as passionate about their spiritual growth. Her mother was a Christian, but not walking closely with the Lord. They attended church only on the holidays. By her sixth grade year, a neighbor invited her to church with her family. It was the beginning of a new chapter in her family history. Eventually, her parents and older sister attended, as well. Soon, the three of them made professions of faith and became extremely involved in church service. Unfortunately, she did not have a personal relationship with Christ until the age of 15. At that time, she too became an active member in His service.

Mrs. McCarter and her family were a big part of the bus ministry, Sunday school instruction, visitation, VBS, and many other areas of service. It was a positive part of her teen years. Sadly, it was also during these years that her father began suffering from severe depression and personality disorders. With so little medical information in those times, it had devastating effects on her family and herself. She attended a Christian school in middle and high school. Christian teachers, that she could confide in, were her support system. It was with their help and encouragement that she secured a scholarship to attend Tennessee Temple University. While there, she also acquired another partial scholarship by touring with one of their choirs, while promoting the school.

Again, the support of amazing Christian educators carried her through. She majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Bible and Science. Mrs. McCarter worked two jobs while in school, but managed to graduate with honors. No one was more surprised than her! During her junior year, she met her husband and married him after they graduated in May of 1986. They moved to the Atlanta area in December 1986. She worked in the accounting department of Delta airlines until March 1987. She then began teaching for Clayton County Board of Education. While teaching, she attended Georgia State University and earned her masters in Teaching Literature/Reading. During those years, she attended First Baptist of Jonesboro, and was active in the choir and ladies groups. Her first child was born in 1993. She continued to teach until her daughter was 2, intending to return when she began school. But, they were blessed with a second daughter 4 years later, and Susan chose to stay home. After combined frustration with local public school policies and her husband's difficult work schedule, she began homeschooling in 2001. Veritas became a part of that education process in 2007. It has been very rewarding watching their oldest grow not only academically, but spiritually. Veritas has been a big part of both. They are excited about their youngest starting on a similar path, this fall. She is, likewise, very excited about being a part of that at the McDonough facility. God is truly her Guide and Strength. Send email to Mrs. McCarter

After living and practicing in Florida for 4 years, she moved with her husband and two children to Fayetteville. They decided to begin homeschooling their girls once the oldest was ready for school. Mrs. Burrell left her career behind, and nine years later, is enjoying learning with them. She and her husband, Rick have been happily married for 16 years. GRADES 3-4 Humanities

Lisa Arnholt -was raised in a military family. Mrs. Arnholt spent most of her life growing up in Clarksville, Tennessee. She graduated from Morningside College with a double Major in Economics and Finance. The day after graduation in 1991, she married Brad Arnholt . She homeschooled both their children, one of which has Asperger’s Syndrome. The success of her homeschooling led many other parents to include their children in her homeschooling program where she had as many as seven students at any given time. Her ultimate achievement was the spring of 2011 when the four seniors, her son and daughter included, passed their SAT’s with scores making them all eligible for college scholarships.

Mrs. Arnholt brings a student oriented style of teaching that seeks to meet the individual student on his/her level. She values each student as his/her own person and inspires them to be their best through success in the classroom.

Soli Deo Gloria – to God be the Glory. Send email to Mrs. Arnholt

GRADES 10-12 - Math

Lesli O’Neill - This is Mrs. O'Neill's 3rd year teaching math with Veritas Classical School. She and her husband Greg have three daughters: Jessica, a 2005 graduate of Kennesaw State University; Alex, who is a sophomore at Kennesaw State; and Kate, who is a sophomore at East Coweta High School.

Because math did not come easily to Lesli when she was a student, she understands when her students seem to hit obstacles that make math difficult for them to comprehend. She learned that through a combination of hard work and allowing the mind to develop more fully, the deeper understanding of math and algebra skills could grow. She hopes that this understanding will help her to help her students this year. She is looking forward to another great year at Veritas. Send email to Mrs. O'Neill
