Sherry Camp -
Mrs. Sherry H. Camp has been affiliated with Veritas Classical Schools since 2004, and is presently directing the Veritas McDonough campus and Veritas Peachtree City campus.  She graduated from William Jennings Bryan College in 1974 with a major in elementary education and minors in Bible, psychology and music.  She won Student Teacher of the Year at Bryan and has earned Teacher of the Year honors at every school where she was employed, including Heiskell School, DeKalb Christian School, and Landmark Christian School.  While teaching in Fayette County she was selected in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" as one of the nation's most respected.  She is married with five grown children who were mostly home-educated.  Her three daughters are married, and she and husband Dan have four grandchildren so far.  She graduated from Colson's intensive biblical worldview program, Centurions, in January, 2008, and is involved in masters completion/doctoral studies through Oxford Graduate School.  Mrs. Camp is a tutor, mentor, discipler, and an inspiration to those around her.  She and her family are involved in the Crosspoint Community Church, PTC.

She taught 4th grade from the time she graduated, until her first child was born. She and her husband, Jose, home schooled all five of their children.  Jennie has been a first and second grade teacher at Veritas since 2006. Jose is a System’s Analyst and part-time seminary student at Reformed Theological Seminary. The Ortega's are active members of ChristChurch, PCA in Buckhead.

GRADES 3-4
Jessica Harman graduated from Berry College in 2003 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  She taught second grade for three years in public schools. She currently stays at home with her three year old daughter and her one year old son.

GRADES 5-6
Amy Paul has been an instructor at the Veritas McDonough Campus since 2006.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Georgia State University in 1991.  She has experience in public, private, and home school environments. She taught 2nd grade for four years at Oakland Elementary, and 1st grade for five years at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy. Sensing God’s direction to leave Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy to home school, she has been a full-time home-schooling mom of her three children, Rachel, Rebecca, and Regan. The transition from private school to homeschooling has been a wonderful experience. She and her husband, Kevin, live in McDonough and have been married for almost 18 years. They are active members of Sharon Baptist Church.

GRADES 7-8
Susan McCarter was born in Danville, Illinois, the youngest of five children in her combined families. She attended public schools in her farm community until the seventh grade. Although her family was avid about education, they were not as passionate about their spiritual growth. Her mother was a Christian, but not walking closely with the Lord. They attended church only on the holidays. By her sixth grade year, a neighbor invited her to church with her family. It was the beginning of a new chapter in her family history. Eventually, her parents and older sister attended, as well. Soon, the three of them made professions of faith and became extremely involved in church service. Unfortunately, she did not have a personal relationship with Christ until the age of 15. At that time, she too became an active member in His service.

Susan and her family were a big part of the bus ministry, Sunday school instruction, visitation, VBS, and many other areas of service. It was a positive part of her teen years. Sadly, it was also during these years that her father began suffering from severe depression and personality disorders. With so little medical information in those times, it had devastating effects on her family and herself. She attended a Christian school in middle and high school. Christian teachers, that she could confide in, were her support system. It was with their help and encouragement that she secured a scholarship to attend Tennessee Temple University. While there, she also acquired another partial scholarship by touring with one of their choirs, while promoting the school.

Again, the support of amazing Christian educators carried her through. She majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Bible and Science. She worked two jobs while in school, but managed to graduate with honors. No one was more surprised than her! During her junior year, she met her husband and married him after they graduated in May of 1986. They moved to the Atlanta area in December 1986. She worked in the accounting department of Delta airlines until March 1987. She then began teaching for Clayton County Board of Education. While teaching, she attended Georgia State University and earned her masters in Teaching Literature/Reading. During those years, she attended First Baptist of Jonesboro, and was active in the choir and ladies groups. Her first child was born in 1993. She continued to teach until her daughter was 2, intending to return when she began school. But, they were blessed with a second daughter 4 years later, and Susan chose to stay home. After combined frustration with local public school policies and her husband's difficult work schedule, she began homeschooling in 2001. Veritas became a part of that education process in 2007. It has been very rewarding watching their oldest grow not only academically, but spiritually. Veritas has been a big part of both. They are excited about their youngest starting on a similar path, this fall. She is, likewise, very excited about being a part of that at the McDonough facility. God is truly her Guide and Strength.
